It’s never been easier to author a book, but what are the keys to writing a successful publication? New self-publishing tools, crowd funding platforms and distribution channels may have increased accessibility for budding authors, but marketing and networking are still a hurdle to many. So we’ve gathered tips from three successfully published authors to help you along: Jeff Finley author of Thread’s Not Dead, Josh Long co-author of Execute, and Mike Rohde author of The Sketchnote Handbook.
I assume the only reason you’re reading this is because either: (1) You like the word ‘badass’ in your article titles as much as I do, (2) You want to be hired on the basis of your badass-ness instead of, say, being hired on the basis of being the Archduke of Everything-Just-Lands-In-My-Lap Mountain.
There are thousands of creative professionals on Zerply, but discovering and connecting with relevant contacts can be challenging. That is why we have redesigned our home page to enhance the discovery and interaction points on the network. Our main changes have taken place in the activity streams, and here’s a breakdown of how it works:
A stream of realtime activity from your contacts (those you follow on Zerply) including updates to their availability, portfolio, endorsements and converse interactions. Helping you to keep in the loop with your peers and their extended network. TIP: To improve the content in ‘Your Stream’ consider following more relevant contacts by searching on find via tags and skills or using the friend finder options.
A summary of the activity from across the network where you can discover new creatives via their portfolio works or professional endorsements. You have the option to share activity on other social networks or ‘like’ activity to highlight it in your followers streams on Zerply.
This is a snapshot of the hot topics currently being discussed on converse, displaying followers, replies and likes. Popular conversation featured in this section are viewable to the extended network, helping to solicit input to interesting discussions. TIP: Simply click on the conversation to view all followers, replies and in turn contribute.
